Né à Paris en 1973 d’une mère française et d’un père ivoirien, Atjo incarne un parcours culturel singulier, façonné par son enfance en Côte d’Ivoire puis son retour en France à l’adolescence. Sa vie et son œuvre sont le point de rencontre vibrant entre deux continents, mêlant avec harmonie les influences de l’Afrique de l’Ouest et de l’Europe.
Profondément inspiré par ses racines, son art puise dans la richesse des couleurs, des matières traditionnelles, des costumes et des bijoux tribaux, et des figures ancestrales, faisant écho aux langages visuels de l’héritage africain et européen. Chaque œuvre est minutieusement réalisée tantôt sur papier, tantôt sur support en fibre qu’il fabrique lui-même, ajoutant une dimension tactile et organique qui ancre sa démarche dans l’authenticité brute de l’art primitif.

Born in Paris in 1973 to a French mother and an Ivorian father, Atjo embodies a unique cultural journey, shaped by his childhood in Ivory Coast and his return to France during adolescence. His life and work are a vibrant meeting point between two continents, harmoniously blending the influences of West Africa and Europe.
Deeply inspired by his roots, his art draws from the richness of colors, traditional materials, costumes and tribal jewelry, and ancestral figures, echoing the visual languages of African and European heritage. Each piece is meticulously created, sometimes on paper, sometimes on fiber supports that he makes himself, adding a tactile and organic dimension that grounds his approach in the raw authenticity of primitive art.
